Daniel Andrew Arntzen, 66 years of age, of Redlands, passed on May 8, 2017 at Redlands Community Hospital. He was born in Pasadena, California, the sixth of seventeen children of Carl and Florence Arntzen. He lived in Covina, California for 17 years; Ontario, and Montclair, California for 45 years, and resided in San Bernardino/Redlands for 3 years. Daniel was a seminary student for two years, but he did not fulfill his priesthood dreams as his paranoid schizophrenia brought him into the health care system. Daniel Andrew Arntzen, 66 years of age, of Redlands, passed on May 8, 2017 at Redlands Community Hospital. He was born in Pasadena, California, the sixth of seventeen children of Carl and Florence Arntzen. He lived in Covina, California for 17 years; Ontario, and Montclair, California for 45 years, and resided in San Bernardino/Redlands for 3 years. Daniel was a seminary student for two years, but he did not fulfill his priesthood dreams as his paranoid schizophrenia brought him into the health care system. This disability was challenging for him, and he did his best to work odd jobs such as dishwashing. He decided to make his personal career as a comedian. One of his mentors was his brother-in-law, Tom Meinhart. They shared jokes and Daniel had his own collection which he shared until the day he passed. Daniel was a devout Catholic his entire life.

Survivors include 13 siblings: Suzan Baland, Carl Arntzen Jr., Sally Hatfield, Christopher Arntzen, David Arntzen, Sat Pursha Khalsa, Vir Kaur Khalsa, Janice Hernandez, Nicki Arntzen, Vicki Casmus, Guru Simrin Singh Khalsa, Steven Arntzen, and Atma Khalsa; nieces Laurie Stites, Sherry Catherine Arntzen, Sandra Arntzen, Cynthia Arntzen, Michele Curtis, Bethany Arntzen-Garcia, Kristi Meinhart, Eavie Arntzen, Theresa Hernandez, Catherine Hernandez, Cherie Bortnick, Samantha Casmus, Jada Arntzen; nephews: Johnny Baland, Darius Kelly, Mark Arntzen, Atmah Khalsa, Tom Meinhart, Anand Khalsa, Niran Kaur Khalsa, Kayne Doughty, Ben Doughty, Tyler Sandeen, Gabriel Casmus, Isiah Casmus, Anand Khalsa, and Matthew Arntzen.

Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Martin Arntzen II and Florence Rose Moore, siblings Laurie Arntzen, Sherrie Arntzen, Theresa Meinhart, paternal grandparents Carl Martin Arntzen I, Ada White, and maternal grandparents Glenn Moore and Bessie Welch.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18th at 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Stone Funeral Home, Upland, with rosary beginning at 6 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 19th at 11 a.m. at St. George's Catholic Church, Ontario followed by private graveside farewell at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Rowland Heights.
